Why am I afraid to look into those eyes?

Why am I afraid to look into those eyes?
Everyday I cross them,
They barely resemble humans,
A child half clothed,
A mother faint from hunger,
I see them everyday,
I increase my pace,
Some people unlike me,
Spare a minute,
Spare a Rupee,
But even they avoid their eyes,
Why am I afraid to look into those eyes?
I want more,
I never think I have enough,
Looking into those eyes my make me feel selfish,
I need this materialism,
Otherwise how do I justify my stance,
I want more, more and more,
And all they want is a chance,
Maybe I want to feel that my life is bad,
So that I don't have to bear the guilt of having something good,
That is why I am afraid to look into those eyes,
Because those eyes are mirrors,
And in that mirror I will see my guilt, my materialism, my miserable selfish life,
That is why I am afraid to look into those eyes
